Step 1: Employee Creation

Employees need to be created on Studio first for with the appropriate permission access setup prior to clocking in

Step 2: Clocking-In

  1. Once the tablet has been successfully registered you will now be on EZ Dine app main login page. From the login page employees will have the ability to clock in/out, break in/out, and use the device
  2. The top header will list the store name, number, tablet name, and the current employee who is logged into the device
  3. Tap the Clock In/Out tab
  4. Enter the four digit passcode/pin created on Studio
  5. The employee task window will be displayed were you can choose the job task you will be working as during your shift
  6. Once the task is selected your name, task, and employee color will be shown on the left side of the login page indicating you have successfully clocked-in
  7. Anytime the clock in/out or use device tabs are selected by mistake the passcode form can be closed. Simply tap anywhere in the shaded blue area outside of the passcode form

Step 3: Clocking-Out

  1. Tap the Clock In/Out tab on the main login page
  2. Enter the four digit employee passcode/pin
  3. The employee clock out report will print listing their shift clock in/out time, hrs worked, and the current work week hrs worked up to the date
  4. If any sales have been transacted the employee end-shift report will print after the clock out report. The end-shift report will provide the employee specific transaction reporting information

Step 4: Clocking-Out With Open Orders

  1. Any employee clocking out with open orders will be prevented from completing the clock-out process
  2. When clocking-out the open orders window will be displayed
  3. You will have the option to close or transfer any of the current open orders
  4. Closing the order can be done by tapping the open order navigation arrow
  5. The navigation arrow will take you directly to the order and open the ticket form. Complete the actions needed to close out the order
  6. For transferring orders to another employee simply tap the checkbox to the left of the order. You can select individual orders or multiple orders at the same time to transfer
  7. Selecting the checkbox at the top of the orders column will transfer all orders at once
  8. Currently clocked in employees will be listed on the right hand side. Tap the employee name and you will see their name highlighted in a red border and become assigned to those open orders
  9. Save changes and those open orders will now be transferred over to the new employee
  10. Once all open orders are either closed or transferred you will be able to finish the clock-out the process

Step 5: Employee Breaks


  1. The break in/out options can be used to track employee breaks while clocked in during their shift
  2. For starting a break tap the break in/out tab. The employee passcode window will be displayed
  3. Once the break is started the employee name will list the break icon to the right of their name while on break
  4. Ending the break can be done by selecting break in/out or use device. If the employee has use device permissions when entering their code and use device it will automatically end their break
  5. Break times and hours will be listed and tracked on the Studio labor details, labor summary, and the EZ Dine app employee clock out reports
