Step 1: Managing The Cash Drawer

  1. The device using the cash drawer will be connected to the cash drawer via the local receipt printer
  2. Navigate to the manager section and select the Printer/Register Setup tab
  3. The list of store receipt printers will be shown with an option to assign one or two cash drawers to the receipt printer
  4. If the device is using one cash drawer select Drawer 1 on the enabled device receipt printer displayed with the blue checkmark
  5. Save settings and you will now see the cash drawer buttons listed on the EZ Dine app control center page. Payin, Payout, and Open Drawer
  6. Once the cash drawer is clocked in and assigned to the cash drawer admin employee the cash drawer assignment will become disabled on the receipt printer

Step 2: Cash Drawer Employee Permissions


  1. There will be two employee permissions related to cash drawer functionality
  2. Cash drawer admin permission will be required for any employee who will be assigned to the cash drawer. They will be responsible for the cash flow coming in and out of the cash drawer. As well as entering the starting and ending balance for the cash drawer shift
  3. The cash drawer admin will only have access and visibility to their assigned cash drawer on the device
  4. Cash drawer access permission will provide employees access to the cash drawer even when not assigned to the cash drawer
  5. With cash drawer access you will have access and visibility to any cash drawer enabled on the device


The employee who will be assigned and responsible for the cash drawer will need the cash drawer admin employee permission turned on from Studio

Step 3: Starting Cash Drawer Balance

  1. Select clock in/out from the EZ Dine app login page
  2. Enter the employee passcode and select the task the cash drawer admin permission is configured to
  3. The cash drawer management window will be displayed listing the cash drawers that have been configured on the local receipt printer
  4. Select Drawer 1 and the cash drawer will automatically open and the cash drawer balance window will be shown
  5. Enter the starting cash drawer amount and submit balance
  6. The employee will now be displayed with a cash drawer icon and drawer number to the left of their name indicating they have successfully been assigned to the cash drawer

Step 4: Ending Cash Drawer Balance


  1. Select clock in/out from the EZ Dine app login page
  2. Enter the employee passcode
  3. The cash drawer will automatically open and the cash drawer balance window will be shown. Enter the closing cash drawer amount and submit balance
  4. The cash drawer report will print automatically listing the cash drawer activity tied to the cash drawer

Step 5: Two Cash Drawers


  1. For one device using two cash drawers you will need a cash drawer splitter cable that will connect to the local receipt printer for both cash drawers
  2. Follow the same setup instructions listed in step 1. Select Drawer 1 and Drawer 2 to be assigned
  3. When the first cash drawer admin employee clocks in they will have the option to choose Drawer 1 or 2 to be assigned to
  4. The next cash drawer admin who clocks in will have the second cash drawer listed for selection and will be assigned to that cash drawer
  5. When either cash drawer admin employee logs into the device they will only have access to their specific cash drawer they clocked into
  6. Any employee with the cash drawer access permission will list both cash drawers available to use on the control center page
